Fat Fowl is looking for a part-time marketing intern to work with Chef Shorne Benjamin to launch his restaurant in Brooklyn's DeKalb Market. He is looking for a self-starter with strong interests in writing, social media, and community. This paid internship will be focusing on three key points in our marketing strategy: social media, email communication, and influencers inaddition to supporting larger initiatives. To be successful, you'll need to be able to think creatively, be self-motivated, and produce extremely detailed work.Currently, this internship is remote and we're accepting applicants from the New York area. You'll report to directly to Chef Shorne Benjamin. Chef Shorne's keen sense of flavor and culinary experimentation began at the age of 7 in St. Lucia under the watchful eye of his grandmother, but he deferred this dream to become a stockbroker at Bank of New York Mellon on Wall Street. Following the 2008 economic downturn, he returned to his first love: culinary. He went on to graduate from the prestigious French Culinary Institute and work alongside such renowned masters as ChefJean-Georges at ABC Kitchen and Chef James Jermyn at Maloney & Porcelli in New York.Chef Shorne has been able to add his unique signature to the dynamic realm of culinary artistry, a distinctive style known as New Age Caribbean.Responsibilities:- Assist with social media management, particularly on Instagram, which includes sending direct messages, maintaining 100% response rate to comments, and searching for interesting and inspiring content.- Draft copy for social media posts that will drive high engagement.- Collect and maintain a strong library of member stories and photos.- Research influencers and partners for future collaborations.Qualifications:- College student studying Marketing, English, Communications, Public Relations, or related fields.- Understanding and appreciation for Marketing- Prior experience managing social media platforms for a brand or publication.- Know Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn inside and out and are up-to-date on latest trends.- Strong written and verbal communication and organizational skills.- Ability to take direction but can confidently work autonomously- Extreme attention to detail is a mustWhat you'll gain:- Management experience on social platforms.- Insight into email marketing and communications.- Experience working with high-profile influencers and tastemakers.- Hands-on startup experience.Job Type: InternshipSalary: $15.00 /hourWork Location:- Remote with occasional in-person meetings with chefBenefits:- Work from home- Flexible scheduleIf you are interested in this exciting opportunity to collaborate with Chef Benjamin to help bring his vision to fruition, please send resumes to
