Read, write and participate, that's why your here. Not simple and he makes you work to earn an A. Excellent well organized courses, which are backed up by the reading. He cares about the students and gives everyone a chance to share. Be prepared to work difficult in this class and you will learn. |

If you are looking for a laid back environment where you can come, sit back and take in lecture from a prof...THIS IS NOT THE CLASS FOR YOU! You don't want to mess with this prof.. Not only does he engages students but his teaching style offer a satisfying and refreshing outlook on American history (the subject he specializes in).I love him |

Took him twice, and i must say he has one of the top teaching standards at OW. In fact, his syllabus and teaching style is visible only at top ranking colleges.In order to get an "A" you must read, read and participate in class. He gets students into circles, and conducts an intellectual dialogue among students about assigned texts. Simply amazing |

prof. Archer's class is sure to ignite your mind! He is quite intelligent. He loves class participation and rountable discussions are a must so you'd better know what your talking about. If you are lazy student this is not the class for you!!!!....seriously but if you do seek a challenge then without a doubt take his course! |

prof. assigns readings everyweek for class discussions so class participation helps you grade. The reading are on the mid year exam, but there is no final exam instead there is a paper. I have learned alot in this class from the prof. and the students from class discussions. |

Dr. Archer is a really great prof.. He assigns difficult work but is always 100% clear about what he wants exactly. Participation and actually reading the projects are two of the most important things in Dr. Archer's class. He's one of the great prof. I've had at SUNY Old Westbury. |

he's a chill prof. but strict at the same time... always up for a great laugh, always takes you to presentations around the campus, you have to know your things though, not necessarily read, sparknotes or index will suffice, but don't rely on one page in index, if you are using it, read all pages in index for review sheets. Not bad on eyes. |

Dr.Archer is a really great prof., he makes the class fascinating. I agree with the other comments; be prepared to read because he makes everyone in the class participate, he will ask specific questions about the readings. |
